The Best Time for Newborn Photography
Newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 2–3 weeks after birth, when babies are naturally sleepier and still curled into those delicate newborn poses.
During this stage, sessions tend to flow more smoothly, allowing time to create softly styled, calm and beautifully detailed portraits while your baby is still in those very early newborn days.
Of course, every baby is different, and if your little one is already older, there’s absolutely no need to worry. Beautiful photographs can still be created beyond the newborn stage, simply with a slightly different approach tailored to your baby’s age and personality.

Because newborn sessions are best photographed within the first few weeks after birth, I recommend reserving your session during pregnancy to ensure availability around your due date.
With nearly 20 years of experience photographing newborns, I’ll guide you through the entire session while creating calm, beautifully styled portraits focused on your baby and all the tiny details that change far too quickly.

Understanding the process
To reserve your newborn session, simply get in touch during your pregnancy to discuss your due date, styling preferences and any ideas you may have for the session.
Booking in advance allows me to keep space around your due date and photograph your baby within the ideal first few weeks after birth.
Newborn sessions are designed to feel calm, relaxed and completely baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, settling and cuddles throughout the experience.
Sessions typically last around 2–3 hours, allowing me to work gently and safely while creating softly styled newborn portraits focused on your baby and all the delicate little details of this stage.
Within approximately 3 weeks, you’ll receive access to your private online gallery where you can choose your favourite images, collections and artwork options.
