Understanding the process
The process begins with a simple enquiry where we’ll discuss your family, preferred locations, styling and the overall feel you’d like for your session.
Whether you’re drawn to soft evening light, open fields or more cinematic outdoor portraits, every session is planned individually around your family and the atmosphere you want to create.
Outdoor family sessions are often booked well in advance, particularly during the summer months and golden evening light seasons.
When booking your session, we’ll discuss preferred locations, timing and possible alternative dates if needed due to unpredictable weather conditions. Before the shoot, I’ll also provide styling guidance and preparation tips to help everything feel cohesive, relaxed and beautifully photographed.
I always keep family sessions relaxed and unrushed. It takes time for children to settle, trust the environment and simply enjoy being themselves, and that’s often when the most natural moments happen.
Sessions typically last around 1–2 hours, giving plenty of time for movement, cuddles, play and pauses whenever needed. Throughout the session, I’ll guide you naturally without stiff posing or forced smiles, focusing instead on beautiful light, connection and genuine interaction.
Your gallery will be ready within approximately three weeks (slightly longer during busy periods). Once complete, you’ll receive access to a private online gallery where you can view the full collection and choose your favourite images and artwork options.
