MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING THE MATERNITY SESSION.
The ideal time for a maternity session is between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage your bump is beautifully visible while you are usually still comfortable enough to enjoy the experience. If you are expecting twins or have a high-risk pregnancy, I recommend booking slightly earlier.
Most clients book their maternity session during their second trimester to ensure availability. However, if you have left it a little later, please get in touch as I may still have space available.
Maternity sessions can take place in my Huntingdon studio or outdoors at one of my carefully selected locations. Studio sessions offer a more elegant and editorial feel, while outdoor sessions provide a natural and relaxed atmosphere.
Yes. You will have access to a carefully selected maternity wardrobe featuring gowns, fabrics, bodysuits and styling pieces designed specifically for maternity photography. Styling advice is also provided before your session.
Absolutely. Your partner and children are welcome to be included in your photographs at no extra charge. Many clients choose a mixture of individual portraits and family images during their session.
Most maternity sessions last between 1 and 2 hours depending on the number of outfit changes and whether family members are taking part.
You don’t need to bring much. Nude and black underwear are always helpful, along with any personal items you may wish to include. A detailed styling guide will be sent after booking to help you prepare.
After your session, you will receive a beautifully edited online gallery where you can choose your favourite images and artwork. A variety of collections are available to suit different needs.
Your gallery is usually ready within 2–3 weeks of your session. Once completed, you will receive a private viewing gallery to select your favourite images and products.
Simply complete the contact form or get in touch through the website. A booking fee is required to secure your session date, and I will guide you through the entire process from styling to image selection.
Not at all. Most of my clients tell me exactly the same thing before their session. You do not need any modelling experience. I will guide you through posing, expressions and movement throughout the session so you feel relaxed and confident.
This question is one of the biggest conversion boosters because it’s a fear almost every pregnant woman has before booking.

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING THE NEWBORN SESSION.
The best time to reserve your newborn session is during pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan. Newborn sessions are limited each month, so booking early ensures availability around your due date.
Newborn sessions are typically photographed when babies are between 6 and 14 days old. During this stage, babies tend to sleep deeply and curl naturally into those beautiful newborn poses.
Don’t worry. Your session is booked around your due date rather than a fixed date. Once your baby arrives, simply send me a message and we’ll arrange the final session date.
All newborn sessions take place in my warm, fully equipped Huntingdon studio, where everything is prepared for both baby and parents to relax and enjoy the experience.
Yes. I provide a carefully curated collection of wraps, outfits, bonnets, headbands, blankets and props. Every detail is selected to create elegant, timeless images while keeping the focus on your baby.
Absolutely. Parents and siblings are welcome to take part in the session. Family photographs are often some of the most meaningful images from your newborn experience.
Most newborn sessions last between 2 and 3 hours. Babies set the pace, so plenty of time is allowed for feeding, cuddles, settling and nappy changes.
There’s no need to worry. Every baby is different and newborn sessions are designed around your baby’s needs. Whether your baby sleeps soundly or prefers to stay awake, beautiful images can still be created.
Please bring enough milk feeds for the session, nappies, wipes and a dummy if your baby uses one. Everything else needed for the photography session is provided in the studio.
Your baby’s safety is always my highest priority. With nearly two decades of experience photographing newborns, every pose is guided carefully and safely, ensuring your baby remains comfortable and secure throughout the session.
After your session, you will receive a beautifully edited online gallery where you can choose your favourite images and artwork. A variety of collections are available to suit different needs.
Your gallery is typically ready within approximately 3 weeks of your session. As every image is individually edited and refined, this allows time to ensure each photograph meets my quality standards.
Yes. Professional prints, framed artwork, albums and wall displays are available to help you enjoy your photographs long after the session is over.
Booking is simple. Get in touch through the contact form or send me a message, and I’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have before securing your session.
Not at all. Most parents tell me exactly the same thing before their session. I’ll guide you every step of the way, keeping everything relaxed and natural so you can focus on enjoying time with your new baby rather than worrying about the camera.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING THE FAMILY SESSION.
Family sessions can be booked at any time throughout the year. However, weekends and golden-hour summer dates often fill up several weeks in advance, so booking early is recommended.
Outdoor family sessions take place in carefully selected locations around Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and the surrounding countryside. Beautiful open fields, woodland paths and golden evening light provide the perfect backdrop for natural family photographs.
The most flattering light is usually during the final hour before sunset. This soft golden light creates the warm, dreamy atmosphere you see throughout my portfolio.
Once your session is booked, you’ll receive styling guidance to help coordinate outfits. Soft neutral tones, earthy colours and flowing fabrics photograph beautifully and help create a cohesive look without distracting from your family connection.
The British weather likes to keep us guessing. If heavy rain or strong winds are forecast, your session will simply be rescheduled to the next suitable date at no additional charge.
Most outdoor family sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes, allowing plenty of time for natural interactions, movement, cuddles and individual portraits.
Not at all. In fact, I don’t expect children to sit still. The best family photographs often come from playing, exploring, running, cuddling and simply being themselves. Sessions are designed to be relaxed and child-led.
Absolutely. Family sessions can include grandparents and extended family members. These multi-generational photographs often become some of the most treasured images.
Yes. Dogs are very welcome at outdoor family sessions. They are part of the family too and can add plenty of personality and fun to your photographs.
I recommend bringing water, snacks for young children and anything your child finds comforting. If your children are very young, a spare outfit can also be useful.
Following your session, you’ll receive a beautifully edited online gallery where you can choose your favourite images and artwork. A variety of collections are available depending on how many photographs you would like to keep.
Your gallery is typically ready within approximately 3 weeks of your session. Each image is individually edited to ensure it reflects the quality and style seen throughout my portfolio.
Yes. Professional prints, framed artwork and albums are available, allowing you to enjoy your photographs beyond a screen and display them beautifully in your home.
That’s completely normal. Many children need a little time to warm up. Sessions are relaxed and pressure-free, allowing children to feel comfortable at their own pace rather than being forced into poses.
Simply get in touch through the contact form or send me a message. I’ll help you choose the best date, answer any questions and guide you through the booking process.
Definitely. Most families tell me they’re worried about this before their session. You won’t be expected to stand and smile at the camera for an hour. I’ll guide you with simple prompts and natural interactions so your photographs feel genuine rather than posed.

CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING THE CAKE SMASH SESSION.
Most parents book their cake smash session 4–8 weeks before their baby’s first birthday. This allows plenty of time for the session, editing and receiving your photographs before birthday celebrations.
Cake smash sessions are most commonly photographed between 10 and 12 months of age. Many parents choose to schedule the session before the birthday party so they can use the photographs for invitations, decorations or social media announcements.
Cake smash sessions take place in my Huntingdon studio, where everything is prepared and ready for your little one’s big celebration.
Yes. The studio is styled specifically for cake smash sessions and can be tailored to suit your chosen colour scheme or theme.
The cake is not included, as many babies have allergies or dietary requirements. I am happy to recommend local cake makers if needed.
A selection of outfits and accessories is available, however many parents choose to bring their own special outfit for the session.
Don’t worry. Not every baby wants to dive straight into the cake. Some babies smash it enthusiastically, while others prefer to investigate slowly. Every reaction is adorable and makes for wonderful photographs.
The session usually begins with a few clean portraits before introducing the cake. Once the cake smash is finished, we move on to the splash bath, which is often one of the most popular parts of the session.
After the cake smash, your baby can enjoy a warm bubble bath in a small tub while I capture playful and happy clean-up photographs.
Yes. Family and sibling photographs can be included before the cake smash begins.
Most cake smash sessions last approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on your baby’s mood and how much fun they’re having.
Please bring your baby’s outfit, wipes, a towel, spare clothes and any favourite snacks or comfort items. The cake will also need to be brought with you if you are providing your own.
Babies are wonderfully unpredictable. Sessions are relaxed and baby-led, allowing plenty of time for cuddles, breaks and reassurance. Even the funniest expressions often become parents’ favourite photographs.
After your session, you’ll receive a beautifully edited online gallery where you can choose your favourite images and artwork. Various collections are available to suit different preferences.
Your gallery is typically ready within approximately 3 weeks of your session.
Yes. Professional prints, framed artwork and albums are available, allowing you to preserve this special milestone long after the cake has disappeared.
Simply get in touch through the contact form or send me a message. I’ll help you choose a date, discuss ideas for the session and guide you through the booking process.
